Our first ECO project of the year is now drawing to a close. All the children have been both fascinated yet shocked to learn about the harmful effects of plastic pollution. The ECO team have been raising awareness of the damage caused to our environment and wildlife when we do not recycle our plastic waste. Sea creatures such as turtles, fish, seals and birds our dying because of either becoming trapped in, or eating, the plastic rubbish found in our oceans and everyone at Rise Park is committed to making a positive change before it is too late.
Every child in the school has recycled a plastic bottle and reused it to create a beautiful flower to decorate our sensory garden. Now, every time we look at our fence of flowers, we will be reminded of those precious sea creatures, whose lives have been saved by the dedication of the Recycling Riseparkers!
