Welcome to our Languages in the Community section. Here you will find our languages and international community projects with our parents, transition work with feeder secondaries, our SLE work with other primaries and The University of Nottingham. We aim to work with people in the wider community to ensure the impact and benefits of languages brings people together and celebrates what our children can achieve!

Mrs Husbands and Mrs Austerfield had a great afternoon out at The University of Nottingham early in January teaching a session on Phonics in languages at the Department of Education for the PGCE Secondary Languages Students. The research and activities linked to improving reading and cross-curricular activities all links to our Languages networks … and back in school for our children!

East Midlands Primary Languages Conference 

Mrs Husbands and Mrs Austerfield had a great time attending today! Great information about the new curriculum focuses with OFSTED'S HMI Michael Wardle, presenting our workshop 'Kickstart language learning with books' and attending some inspiring workshops including Sue Cave supporting planning and assessing, the Arsenal Languages Double Club and Carmen Santos form the Spanish Embassy bringing a bit of theatrical learning. All in all we have loads of brilliant ideas to bring back into school with us. Gracias. 

ECO IDEAS - FARMER'S MARKET

NST - LEAD Network meeting: Speaking and listening

Twenty-four children from across KS2 worked with two University of Nottingham Students and Miss Richmond to learn a range of German vocabulary, songs and culture culminating in a showcase with parents at the University's Great Hall. The children built a German town and labelled it as well as performing a song and a poem. It was a great day out by all. Wunderbar!
